Field Day

During the last month of Jaden and Cody's 3rd grade year, their school held a Field Day for grades K-3. In the past, this was a joint gathering of multiple Lutheran schools to compete in various track and field events. Due to continued Covid concerns, however, our school elected to run Field Day within our own student body. The good part about this decision was that each student could participate in every event, rather than making each kid pick only three events to compete in. Jason, Adley, and I were able to attend Field Day, too, and cheer on the boys. Cody and Jaden seemed to have a great day competing and having fun with their friends.

Here are some photos of Cody in his events-- basketball shot,

javelin throw,

bouncy ball race,

soccer ball kick,

Frisbee throw,

and bluebell artwork.

Here are some videos of Cody competing in a couple running events...

and the long jump.

The students were given awards the next week in PE, after the results had been tabulated. Ribbons were given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners from both 3rd grade classes combined. Cody earned five ribbons total in the following events-- soccer shot, long jump, 200-meter run, sack race, and 50-yd dash. We were proud of our talented, hard-working little athlete!

Jaden also gave his all in each event. Here he is competing in basketball shot,

bouncy ball race,

long jump,

50-yd dash,

Frisbee throw,

sack race,

softball throw,

and various running events.

Jaden found out that he placed in three events-- the basketball shot, bouncy ball race, and the softball throw. We were proud of his athletic skill, too!

We were thankful the school provided this fun day of activities!
