March Misc

A few other family happenings from March...

Kids Adventure Club
Back in November, both Jaden and Cody read their very first chapter book, a Magic Tree House book. Since then, both boys have been very hooked on reading. It is very typical for both boys to check out 7 or 8 books from the library and then finish them all within a week! Jaden has been especially into the Magic Tree House series, so we signed him up for the free Magic Tree House Kids Adventure Club. With this program, the boys take short online quizzes for each Magic Tree House book they read, earn virtual passport stamps, and rack up points that can be used for printable rewards (bookmarks, puzzles, stationery, posters). This club has been a HUGE motivator for our boys. By March, Jaden officially finished every single one of the books in both the Magic Tree House AND the (slightly longer) Merlin Mission series-- a total of 57 books! He is now making his way through the nonfiction Fact Tracker series too. We are so proud of our little reader!

Isaiah's Birthday
We continue to enjoy our extended family gathering times that we have several times each month. Family birthday parties are our favorite excuses to gather! This month, we celebrated our nephew Isaiah's 4th birthday.

Tricycle Pro
This month, Adley surprised us by starting to ride her tricycle independently. No one in our family ever taught her how to ride-- she just watched her big brothers, and off she went!

Spring Playdate
Adley's little friends met this month for a spring-themed playdate. My friend Bev made these fun butterfly snacks that were a huge hit with the kids!

Bev also planned a flowerpot painting activity for the kids. What a perfect idea for spring! Each of the kids was especially interested in painting the bottom of the flowerpot. :)

Then, we just enjoyed playing and chatting in the nice, outdoor weather. The bubbles were a huge hit too!

More Flowerpot Painting
Cody and Jaden were a little bummed that Adley got to spend time painting a flowerpot while they were at school, so we decided to make this a whole family activity! I was a bit surprised that they were so into this activity, but the boys loved it! After the boys' flowerpots were painted and dry, we used them as homes for their rodeo sunflowers.
