22 Months Old

Adley turned 22 months old at the start of January (woo-hoo for finally blogging about events in the same calendar year!!). This little girl does not often like to sit still. The only times we can get her to do so are when we are reading to her or letting her watch her favorite Baby Bum show. Adley has a deep love for her brothers and a strong independent streak. She is bright, observant, and definitely keeps us on our toes!

Stats at 22 Months:

PHYSICAL
  • Walks down stairs by standing up and trying to reach the railing
  • Can officially jump (off the ground) and LOVES jumping along to music
  • Learned how to open the door leading to the garage (gotta keep an eye on this girl!)
  • Went pee pee in the potty several times on her own accord (no official training done yet!) and even asked for toilet paper to wipe herself!
LANGUAGE
  • Says "Adley go?" if we're playing hide-and-seek, since we often ask, "Where did Adley go?"
  • If Mommy seems frustrated or says "oh no," she gently asks, "Happen, Mommy?"
  • Favorite songs to listen to AND sing along with are BINGO and No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed
  • If Mommy's phone rings, Adley excitedly announces "Daddy!" or "Gee-mee" for Grammy, even when we have no idea who's calling
PLAYTIME/OTHER
  • Will bang her head with her fists if she's frustrated, but once we eventually get through to her, she quiets down and says, "Otay, Mommy."
  • Drags the kitchen chair or small picnic table over to the counters or to the fridge so she can reach and climb. Nowhere is safe anymore!
  • Favorite Christmas toys to play with-- baby stroller, hedgehog toy, musical smartphone, purse
  • Loves bringing over a pile of books to Mommy or Daddy, saying "Read, Mommy, read!"
  • Always wants to be where her brothers are
  • Enjoys climbing around in the car and pretending to drive while Mommy is unloading groceries from the car
