Grandparents' Day

In the middle of March, Jaden and Cody's school hosted a Grandparents' Day as part of their Lutheran Schools' Week celebration. We were so fortunate that this day fell during Grandpa and Grandma's vacation in Texas. Cody and Jaden were able to have BOTH sets of grandparents join them at school for this special day.

Cousin Abby's preschool class got to participate in Grandparents' Day by singing a song in chapel, so Grammy and Papa got to see Abby as well.

Jaden and Cody's kindergarten class had written a couple poems about grandparents.

This second one is a little hard to see--
Jaden's contribution: "Grandparents have cars."
Cody's comment: "Grandparents can play with you."

Grandpa and Grandma sat with Jaden first and played a dice game called "Roll a Grandpa/Grandma."

Cody spent time with Papa and Grammy first. He gave them some special pictures that he had drawn for them and played the same dice game.

About halfway through their time together, Grandpa and Grandma switched with Grammy and Papa so that they could spend time with both boys. They played some board games together and looked through Jaden and Cody's classroom writing portfolios.

Cody and Jaden proudly pointed out which hallway art projects belonged to them.

The celebration ended with an all-school chapel. Grades K-2 sang a couple songs...

...and then the kindergartners joined the preK classes for another song.

Abby is bottom left in this picture, while Cody and Jaden are couple kids to the right of Abby, somewhat hidden behind the first row.

Jaden and Cody are so wonderfully blessed by TWO amazing sets of grandparents who love them immensely and who daily model Christ's servant heart. The boys loved having their grandparents join them at school!

  1. How fun! I'm impressed you got so many pictures! Did parents attend grandparents' day, too?
