11 Months Old

January was a milestone month for Adley-- she officially became a toddler! At the start of the month, she just took off with her walking, and now there is no stopping her! Adley rarely crawls anymore, and she isn't very happy being contained (in someone's arms, in a shopping cart, in her carseat) either. What a big girl she seems to be now! Adley has also started consistently saying a few words. It's amazing how much she is growing up! We are enjoying every minute of watching you grow. You are such a joy in our lives, Adley Grace!

A few more details about Adley at 11 months:

PHYSICAL

• Confident walker! 
• Likes making faces by scrunching up her nose 
• Loves pulling off her socks
• Flaps her arms when she wants to be picked up
• Knows how to climb down a couple stairs by turning around and scooting backwards
• Got teeth #3 and #4 (top two central incisors) at the end of the month

SLEEPING HABITS

• Takes a morning nap around 9:15/9:30 that lasts between 30 min. and 1.5 hours
• Second nap is shorter (around 45 min.) since we are usually disrupted by school pickup time for her big brothers
• Still awakens a few times through the night but typically puts herself back to sleep
• Mommy usually nurses her around 4-5am, and then she thankfully goes right back to sleep until 6:30 or 7:00

EATING HABITS

• Loves eating whatever we're eating (especially devoured lasagna and stirfry this month)
• Tosses food over the side of her high chair when she decides she's done
• Can use her sippy cup independently to drink water
• Gets VERY distressed when wiped up after a meal
• When we put her down from her high chair after a meal, she will immediately start picking up and eating food that she dropped on the ground (are you done or not, girl??)
• Still nurses 5-6 times a day but is often squirmy and is easily distracted while nursing

LANGUAGE

• Started to say "uh-oh" and will purposely drop toys (especially during a diaper change) just so she can say her new word
• Says "ba" for ball

PLAYTIME

• Enjoys opening up the kitchen garbage can and tossing away her toys (oh no!)
• Likes taking things out of containers and putting them back in
• Loves any kind of button, especially repeatedly turning on the printer
• Likes gazing outside the upstairs window
