Our Big News!

Cody and Jaden will help us share our big family news....

Hooray! We praise the Lord for the amazing, miraculous gift of life that He has given us through this new little baby on the way. Jason and I found out the news in early July. Our first doctor's appointment wasn't until a month later, in early August. We were so thankful to find out that our baby's life was progressing well and were a bit relieved to learn that the baby inside Mommy's womb was just singular this time around! :)

We told our immediate family members right away, but didn't spread the news beyond that yet. Once we got the confirmation from the doctor that all was well, we were eager to start telling the world! At this point, we decided to share the news with Jaden and Cody. We took a video of their reaction...

After we turned off the video, Cody wanted to know if we would have to buy a new house. Jaden asked if the baby was on the inside or the outside of Mommy's tummy. When we told him it was on the inside, he thought about that for some time and then wondered, "Did you swallow the baby in your mouth so that it could get inside your tummy?" We were amused by his precious reasoning. :) We just told him that God created the baby in Mommy's tummy from the very beginning.

Jaden and Cody are convinced that the baby is going to be a girl. They regularly give kisses and hugs to Mommy's growing tummy and sometimes will even wave and say, "Hi baby!" We are thankful that they have so far responded well to the idea of being big brothers.

Our first ultrasound was at 8 weeks. Here are the first pics we received of our little one. What a joy it was to see the little baby roll around a bit and to hear the heartbeat. God's handiwork is certainly amazing! We learned that our baby was due to arrive on March 9.

At our 11 1/2 week appointment, we were surprised when our doctor took us in for another ultrasound right away. Of course, we didn't mind the extra pics of our little blessing! Our doctor loves the 4D imaging, so we got quite a few 4D shots this time around. Amazing!

The doctor said that baby was measuring a full week ahead of schedule, so he told us that our due date could potentially be moved up to March 3. Jaden and Cody also seemed to grow very quickly in utero from one appointment to the next, so hearing this about baby #3 wasn't too surprising. We praise God for this baby's good health and growth so far!

I, too, have been very blessed with a smooth pregnancy so far. My body would tire out very easily in the first two months, and I loved taking naps whenever I could squeeze them in. Despite the tiredness, however, I have been feeling great-- a bit of nausea if I forget to snack at regular intervals but no sickness. For that, I am very grateful! My belly sure seems to remember exactly how to stretch out... already at week 13 my "baby pooch" is growing.

Thank you for joining alongside us in prayer for this new little gift of God. We feel incredibly blessed and can't wait to cuddle with this new little baby someday soon!
