In early June, our family attended our first ever Home Depot kids' workshop. Thanks go to my sister Kim for signing us up for this free event! I had seen the workshops advertised but always figured Jaden and Cody were too young. As it turned out, the boys loved it and maintained interest during the entire building process. After arriving we received bright orange aprons for the boys (which they only kept on for a few minutes!).
Daddy matched quite well with his orange shirt, too.
This month's workshop project was a Load n' Go truck-- right up the boys' alley!
Daddy and Mommy held on to the truck during the hammering process, but otherwise the boys could hammer in the nails fairly independently.
Putting the wheels on was an exciting step. Now our building project really looked like a truck!
Almost done...
The last step was adding stickers to give the vehicle some character. Cody (pictured first) and Jaden were very proud of their finished products.
At the end of the workshop, each boy received a pin to put on his apron. We're excited to visit again in future months to collect more pins and to see what else we can build. What a wonderful morning!
