Christmas Activities

Only 5 months behind isn't too bad, right?? Ha! At least I'm almost blogging about the correct calendar year... Here are some of our family's Christmas photos. :)

School Christmas Program

What a treat it was to see all THREE of our children up on stage participating in the school Christmas program for the first time. It definitely felt strange to have no kids beside us in the pew! Adley sang a couple of cute songs with the preK-2nd grade group. She's in the center of the very front row.

The two fourth grade classes were featured by themselves for one song. They sounded great!

As always, our kiddos are lovingly supported by their wonderful grandparents!

These three looked so grown up in their Christmas outfits from Grammy and Papa.

Following the program, we celebrated the kids' great performance by getting treats at DQ with grandparents and Andrew and Sarah's family.

Christmas Eve
The day after the Christmas program, I started to feel sick and ended up with a positive COVID test. Cody also got a positive test shortly afterwards. Our family spent most of December quarantined at home. Christmas Eve was our family's first time joining others out in public again. It felt very strange getting the kids dressed up in the exact same Christmas outfits, knowing we had done very little between these two events! It was sooo nice having everyone healthy again and definitely made us appreciate the blessing of corporate worship.

All of the extended family attended worship together at Salem for Christmas Eve. It was a beautiful service, reflecting on God's great love for us in sending His Son Jesus.

Jason preached on Christmas Eve and did a wonderful job. We were happy we could snag him for a quick family photo.

Christmas Day
The extended family joined together in worship again at Trinity on Christmas morning. It was unusually warm for Christmas this year, so as you can see, we put away the sweaters and brought out the shorts! Sigh. Definitely not a white Christmas in Texas!

Grammy and Papa hosted a wonderful meal and time together for the rest of the day on Christmas. It was so relaxing to be together! In addition to opening gifts and playing outside, the kids held a short musical recital.

The kids also loved playing with these unique straw-glasses from Grammy and Papa.

I never do a great job of taking photos during the downtimes on these holidays, as we are simply enjoying talking and spending time together, but it was a wonderful celebration!
