Once school began in the fall, Adley's themed playgroup started back up again. Some of our previous playgroup friends had moved on to kindergarten or full-time preschool, but thankfully we found a few new friends to invite to our group. This school year we talked about meeting twice a month-- one for a "field trip" outing and once for our usual themed activities. In September, we met at a splashpad and enjoyed some sunny playtime for the kids and quality catch-up time for the mommas! Later in the month, we met at my friend Casey's home for a cute fish-themed playdate.
As always, the playgroup began with some free playtime for the kids. The girls loved meeting JoJo's new kitty!
Our first "fishy" activity was an outdoor game-- bouncing balls into water-filled cups. This was trickier than it appeared!
Then, Casey read The Rainbow Fish to the kids.
After seeing pictures of the colorful, shimmery rainbow fish in the book, the kids crafted their own fish with paint and foil scraps.
Casey and JoJo had even made a festive decorative sign to add to the atmosphere. So cute!
My friend Alecia provided the snack-- gummy fish hidden in jello. Yum!
For the last activity, the kids got to go fishing for a prize! They each affixed a gummy worm as bait to the end of their pole...
...and caught a bag filled with goldfish! What an exciting activity for these kiddos!
Such an enjoyable morning with friends!
