Two Years Old!

For Jaden and Cody's 2nd birthday, we had our first experience with pictures at a professional studio! The window of happy-time for both boys was VERY short during this photo shoot. But, it was long enough to get a few good shots. The photographer certainly captured some fun personality in our little guys!

Favorite Activities

playing on our playset, wrestling!, going to the park, squirting spray bottles (usually at each other), using stickers and dot painters, watching Praise Baby, flipping through books, building forts, using push toys in the driveway, helping Mommy in the kitchen (esp. when they get to sample ingredients!)

Least Favorite Activities

getting nails trimmed, being weighed at the doctor's office, sharing ANYTHING with each other

Language

The vocabulary doors have finally opened wide for our little guys! They regularly use words to tell us their needs "eat, milk, up, poop, outside, snack, down" rather than using merely actions, whines, or grunts. They love repeating phrases that Mommy and Daddy will say (a favorite is "Oh, my!"), and their vocabulary seems to expand with several words each day. The particularly love identifying the colors of everything they see inside, outside, or in their books.

Fun Facts

• One of Cody's most recent favorites is his small white pick-up truck, which he lovingly calls his "upa-upa-upa-upa-upa-upa-TA!"
• When they have a dirty diaper, both boys will often run right to our diaper-changing basket & lay down on the ground with their feet up in the air. Perhaps we're ready for potty training soon! :)
• The boys had their first official food fight this month (which Mommy promptly tried to stop) AND their first official de-pantsing of one another (which Mommy also tried to stop). The first will not be the last I'm sure. Sigh... 
• If one of our boys hurts himself, the other boy will often carefully act out for us what happened.

Life is certainly an adventure parenting two 2-year-olds! We are so thankful for God's wisdom, guidance, and grace along this journey of parenthood. We feel blessed that God has entrusted these little lives to our care! We love you, Jaden & Cody! :)
