Disney Day 2 - Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom was our Day 2 Disney destination. We were so thankful that masks were no longer required as of this day--much more comfortable in the humid air! Our large family group stuck together most of the day, which meant that we moved somewhat slowly from one ride to the next. My brother compared our movements to a battleship trying to turn course. Ha! It sure was fun sticking together, though, and having family to entertain each other as we waited in line. We hit up lots of different rides, saw a couple shows, ran into some afternoon showers again (during which nearly EVERY ride shut down for an hour or so), endulged in yummy Mickey Bars and Dole Whips, and got TONS of steps during our 12 hour day at the park.

Due to covid, Disney characters were no longer greeting kids close-up (bummer!), but we did get to see a few characters waving at us from the balcony as we first entered the park.

Walking along the iconic Main Street USA felt so magical!

We all wore matching Disney tie-dye shirts (Mickey for the guys and Minnie for the ladies). It made it very easy to spot any family member from a distance. We loved checking out all the other creative matching shirts that other families wore, too.

A few rides we enjoyed, in no particular order, included...
Mad Tea Party

It's a Small World

Tomorrowland Speedway

Prince Charming Regal Carousel

The Magic Carpets of Aladdin

Country Bear Jamboree

Seven Dwarves Mine Train

Despite what it appears in these photos, Adley truly loved this ride!

Space Mountain

Pirates of the Caribbean

The Haunted Mansion

Splash Mountain

Buzz LightYear's Space Ranger Spin

Ride favorites for our family were...
Adley--Seven Dwarf Mine Train
Jaden--Space Mountain & Splash Mountain
Cody--Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain
Jason--Big Thunder Mountain
Amy--Not one particular ride, enjoyed the nostalgia of them all!

The Seis family, who had so graciously given us Disney points for our resort stay, made our family promise to take a photo with everyone enjoying a Mickey Bar. We didn't mind fulfilling this request at all. These ice cream treats were so delicious!

Some family group photos...

We definitely made the most of our stay at Magic Kingdom, arriving even before the official opening time and staying until the park closed. We all ended the day happily exhausted!
