Adley turned 16 months old at the beginning of July. The best phrase to describe this girl as of late is a climbing machine! Once she realized that she could climb, boy oh boy, there was no stopping her! Adley climbs up on the couch, onto the piano bench, onto the kitchen chairs and even on the table. She loves being where all the action is, and it is becoming increasingly more difficult to keep no-no items (markers, Legos, Jaden and Cody's special toys) away from this curious girl. It is an adventure keeping up with Adley and making sure that she is safe. In spite of the craziness she's been adding to our lives lately, though, we love this girl to pieces!
Other 16 month old details:
PHYSICAL
- Got bottom left molar
- Her "trot" is getting much faster!
- Surprises family members by swatting us in the face when we least expect it!
SLEEPING HABITS
- Continues to sleep fairly regularly through the night (from 8/8:30 to 5:00 or 6:00)
- Took LONG mid-day naps this month, averaging 2 1/2 - 3 hours!
EATING HABITS
- Vegetables are a hard sell these days
- Favorite lunches include yogurt (but only if she feeds herself), PBJ, pancakes
- Enjoys opening up Oreos, licking out the frosting, then tossing the rest of the cookie
- Shows us that she's done eating by throwing her food on the ground at an alarming rate of speed!
LANGUAGE
- Connects words in new ways (says "off" whenever we turn off the vacuum or a light; says "hot" if she touches something warm or even if it is too hot outside)
- Loves hearing songs like "Wheels on the Bus," "BINGO," and "Old MacDonald," especially as a distraction from being wiped up after a meal
- New word-- "hi-ya" when she wants to sword fight with her brothers
PLAYTIME
- Started to sleep with a lamb stuffed animal and a small blankie lovie
- Hugs her stuffed animals, especially Violet (her Leapfrog puppy)
- Loves to climb up on the piano bench and "play" her own music
- Enjoys climbing on top of her brothers and distracting them while they are watching their favorite TV show

Adley always makes us smile. Even though we see her regularly, I always learn from your post.
