One big perk that we received through Cody and Jaden's Little League team this spring was free tickets (for them) to see the Astros. What a perfect opportunity to take Jaden and Cody to their first major league baseball game! Aunt Kim and Uncle Matt graciously watched Adley for us on this Sunday afternoon so that both Jason and I could enjoy the experience with our boys.
The day turned out to be a surprisingly cool one (upper 50s) for an April day in Houston. It made for very comfortable baseball-watching weather. We were very pleased with the view from our seats.
I struggled to get a decent picture of the boys in front of the field. The lighting either blocked out the field...
...or Jaden and Cody. (Can you see their little silhouettes at the bottom of the picture??)
But we were still able to get some fun family shots.
The boys were very interested in all aspects of the game at the beginning. Daddy was a wonderful teacher, pointing out all kinds of details (some which were even new to Mommy!). After several no-score innings, however, their interest began to wane. Finally, at the bottom of the 5th, the Astros hit a 3-run homer, the stadium erupted in energy and excitement, and the boys gained back a little enthusiasm.
We ended up staying through the 7th inning stretch, when Astros were ahead 4-1. Turns out that no other runs were scored after we left, so we didn't miss much! We liked seeing an Astros victory, although halfway through the game, our dear Cody decided he wanted to cheer for the Padres. Hmmm... Guess it's good that he's willing to be independent! We took a few more pics as we left the stadium.
We enjoyed the quality-time with our baseball-loving boys!

I'm so glad you were able to do this with your big boys! We'd love to watch Adley again sometime so you can do another big-kid activity! :)
