Grandma & Grandpa Time - Part 1

At the end of August, we were excited to welcome Grandpa and Grandma Schleicher to our home. Jaden and Cody warmed up to them very quickly (it's helped to have lots of recent company!). Grandpa and Grandma were fun playmates--- playing several games of Hullabaloo,

being silly with puppets,

and making & eating pretend meals.

Jaden and Cody enjoyed the new little gifts that Grandma and Grandpa brought along, including new play dough utensils,

and fun little pinwheels!

Grandpa gave both boys some early lessons in shaving. What fun!

Jaden especially enjoyed admiring his new look. :)

Just recently, Jaden and Cody have been more willing to sit and listen to longer stories. They also request books multiple times a day now, rather than just reading before bedtime and naptime. So... Grandpa and Grandma did a  LOT of reading!

Morning story time...

Afternoon storytime...

And bedtime story time!

Grandpa and Grandma were both great helpers around our home. Grandpa did a TON of much-needed weeding for us and trimmed some of our trees.

Grandma helped out with our morning devotions on a few different days, too.

In the evenings after the boys had gone to bed, the adults enjoyed some calm discussion time and some game playing, too.

Though the game was fairly close, Jason beat us all in this round of Stone Age.

Since Grandma has a birthday in mid-September, we chose to celebrate a bit early with her. The boys gave Grandma a card,

and then helped blow out the candles on her chocolate brownies.

The boys even surprised Grandma with their own special rendition of "Happy Birthday."

We enjoyed celebrating with you, Grandma! Happy early birthday! Thanks to both Grandma and Grandpa for being such great playmates with the boys during your visit. We all loved spending time with you!
