In the wee hours of Halloween morning, the Schleicher family awoke and headed to the airport. We were off to Houston to see our family!
Traveling on two flights with two active & wiggly toddlers was not the easiest task in the world, but we made it! Cody and Jaden loved watching all the action from the airport windows.
We also got to be BIG fans of the moving sidewalks. You can certainly ride these many, many times during a 2+ hour layover!
The long day of travel was certainly worth our final destination, though. We were so excited to spend time with Matt, Kim, Ian and Ryan during this long weekend! We arrived to Houston just in time for the trick-or-treating. Maybe I'm a bit biased, but don't these little men all look adorable?
Ian blew his whistle on all the little ones when they tried to run away. What a good cop!
Off we go! Ryan did such a good job of holding his own little bucket during our trick-or-treating. Cody and Jaden liked it best when Mommy and Daddy held on to their Halloween buckets. My favorite part of this picture is the fact that Jason is wearing shorts and a T-shirt. Hooray for beautiful TX weather!
Once we got to the various homes, the little guys mostly did an okay job of walking up to the front door.
Ian demonstrated how to knock on the door. Often, each home received quite a few consecutive knocks from our little bunch.
Sometimes, it was tough to wait for the homeowners to answer the door.
Finally, though, when the doors would open, the boys were quite excited to receive their special treat.
At first, we had to remind our boys that this was not another reverse trick-or-treat event. They didn't have to give the candy back this time. :)
From house to house, Ian was a good leader for his little brother & cousins. Believe it or not, quite often these little guys got a bit sidetracked!
Ian helped us to not be afraid of the strange creatures that we'd sometimes see on the doorsteps.
We only made it to about a dozen homes before we all got tired out. It's not easy keeping up with 3 little jailbirds when you only have one cop!
Overall, it was an enjoyable trick-or-treat experience and a wonderful first day in Texas!
