Phoenix Travels: Part I

Now that Andrew and Sarah (Amy's brother and sister-in-law) have their own place in Scottsdale, Jason and I have been talking for some time about traveling to their home. We figured that February was a perfect time for a getaway to warmer weather. Plus, with our family soon multiplying, we know that traveling will soon get much more challenging. How excited we were when our visiting plans turned into a whole Walquist family gathering in AZ! One of our first activities upon arrival was to pick oranges from their trees and to make our own fresh orange juice. YUM!

Playing with our little nephew and godson, Ian, is always a highlight of our family gatherings. He knows how to make everyone smile!

Amy's brother Andrew is a talented physical therapist, so we were excited to see his clinic and hear more about his daily activities. It was quite fun playing with all of his PT toys, too!

Sarah convinced us that the In-N-Out Burger joint was a necessary stop on our trip, since none of the rest of us had ever been to one. The burgers and shakes were quite tasty!

I'm pretty sure Ian's favorite part of trip was visiting a nearby train park. Sarah, Kim, and I rode the train with him a couple times and took him for a few carousel rides as well. It was so fun seeing Ian's obvious excitement. He was all smiles the whole day!
