Jaden Day

Jaden was up second for his special day with Grammy and Papa.

In past years, Jaden and Cody have picked very similar activities on their separate days, but this year their choices were more unique. To start his day, Jaden spent a long time playing in the "sand pit," a sand volleyball court near Grammy and Papa's home.

The sand was a perfect consistency for making creations.

Then, Jaden wanted to play with Sky Ripperz.

On the way home, Jaden remembered to ask about pulling into the driveway in style!

Back at Grammy and Papa's, Jaden made his gallon-sized snack bag. You can tell by his HUGE bag how much Jaden enjoys this activity. :)

Once their neighborhood pool opened for the day, Jaden spent some time swimming with Papa.

He also played at the nearby playground and fed the ducks.

Jaden requested a kids' meal from Chick-Fil-A for lunch.

Then, Grammy helped Jaden make a delicious chocolate ganache cake. We were thankful that he brought it home to share with the family. It was tasty!

The rest of the afternoon activities included watching a movie,

making two sand art creations,

and trying out Grammy's diamond art craft.

Another memorable Jaden Day in the books! Thanks, Grammy and Papa, for your love for Jaden and for spending this special time with him!

Cody Day

In July, all three of our kids had their annual day to spend with Grammy and Papa. The kids look forward to their special day for weeks and always treasure their time alone with Grammy and Papa. Cody was the first to have his "Cody Day."

Each year, Grammy and Papa devise a list of activities for the grandkids to choose from on their day. Cody was excited to see a new option on the list this year-- fishing! He and Papa started by digging up some worms.

Then, Papa taught Cody all the basics of fishing. So fun!

The lake was right next to a playground, so after fishing, Cody chose to play for a while.

He became pretty popular with the ducks, too, after sharing some bread with them!

Always a must on the kids' activity list is snack-making. Grammy and Papa let the kids make their own gallon-sized bag of "trail mix" from a large pile of tasty food options.

Before lunch, Cody swam at Grammy and Papa's neighborhood pool and ended up seeing a buddy of his from school.

Lunch was Cody's special request-- a Happy Meal from McDonalds!

Then, Grammy guided Cody in whipping up some frosted brownies--one of his very favorite desserts!

The rest of the day was spent watching a movie,

learning how to do diamond art,

making a model hand (with fingers that could bend!),

and playing the card game Golf.

What a full day! Thanks for spending time with Cody and for making him feel so special, Grammy and Papa!
